Drostanolone propionate

Drostanolone Propionate is an oil-based injectable anabolic steroid derived from dihydrotestosterone (DHT). In fact, all anabolic analogs and steroid derivatives are modifications of one or the other of the three main anabolic steroids that occur naturally in all humans: testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, and nandrolone. Other anabolic steroids in this family of DHT derivatives include Anavar, Winstrol, Anadrol, Primobolan, and others. Drostanolone is not considered a very strong anabolic steroid, but it is not weak. Its anabolic strength is generally considered moderate at best (62-130 anabolic score), and its androgenic strength is rather low (25-40). This shows a clear difference compared to testosterone, the natural and original first anabolic steroid used as a reference benchmark against which all other anabolic steroids are compared and measured. In comparison, testosterone has 100 for both anabolic and androgenic activity.

Chemical Properties of Drostanolone Propionate

The most popular variant of Drostanolone is the propionate variant. Specifically, propionate is propionic acid, but once bonded to Drostanolone, it is aptly called a complex ester bond in chemistry. Propionic acid binds to the 17-beta hydroxyl group in the chemical structure of Drostanolone (Drostanolone). The addition of this ester changes the half-life and rate of release of the hormone, providing a longer release and half-life than if the hormone were not esterified. The main reason for its increased half-life and release rate is that once drostanolone propionate enters the bloodstream, enzymes in the body break the ester-hormone bond, requiring different time intervals.

The end result is that the ester is removed from the hormone by an enzyme, and what's left is pure Drostanolone Propionate (or any anabolic steroid that was previously esterified), now free to function in the body.

Therefore, the half-life of Drostanolone Propionate is 2.5 days. Apart from increasing the release rate and half-life of the hormone, esterification does not alter the action and properties of the hormone.

Properties of the product

Because Drostanolone Propionate is a DHT derivative, it retains some of the same properties as its parent hormone, one of which is its inability to interact with aromatase. Aromatase is the enzyme responsible for converting androgens into estrogens, and Drostanolone is not affected by this process. 

Therefore, Drostanolone Propionate does not have any estrogenic side effects at any dose, allowing Drostanolone to completely eliminate the risks of: 

• water retention;
  
• high blood pressure (due to water retention);
• possible fat gain/retention;
• gynecomastia.

Drostanolone inhibits aromatase, thus eliminating the ability of estrogen to be formed from aromatizable anabolic steroids during aromatization. Basically, it is effective in reducing water retention as estrogen levels continue to drop due to the increased amount of aromatase turned off.

Side Effects of Drostanolone Propionate

Drostanolone Propionate is considered by the bodybuilding community to be one of the "milder" anabolic steroids when it comes to side effects. This is mainly because Drostanolone is a derivative of DHT. Because it is derived from DHT, it has the same (or similar) properties and functionality as DHT. This involves the inability to interact with aromatase, so there are no estrogen-related side effects at all.

Drostanolone Propionate is not hepatotoxic, but like any anabolic steroid, it helps suppress/arrest HPTA, thus reducing endogenous testosterone production.

Cycle and Use

Drostanolone cycles typically last 8-10 weeks, mainly due to its short-ester nature. Some bodybuilders only choose to use Drostanolone Propionate for the last 2 to 4 weeks before a competition or photo shoot.

For a more traditional Drostanolone Propionate fat loss cycle, it is used in combination with Winstrol (Stanozolol), Trenbolone, Anavar

Dosing and Injections

For exercise and bodybuilding purposes in male users, Drostanolone Propionate is dosed at 200-400 mg per week, with the lower end of the range (200 mg) typically used for competition preparation and usually not exceeding the 400 mg/week mark.
